The project Jews in Mecklenburg is dedicated to the history of the Jews of historic Mecklenburg, the former Grand Duchies of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Mecklenburg-Strelitz, and the later state of Mecklenburg formed from them.
Our goal is the most complete reconstruction possible of the destroyed Jewish part of Mecklenburg's history: the portrayal of local Jewry and the former Jewish population of Mecklenburg, their history and personalities, their cultural-historical legacies, family relationships, achievements and accomplishments, so that these are not forgotten.

We are a private initiative, independent of any political influence, and we orient ourselves exclusively on sources and facts. We would be delighted if you, as a regional researcher, historian, descendant, genealogist, or simply an interested person, would participate in our work or our individual projects or help us with them.

The project Jews in Mecklenburg is furthermore the home of the Complete Family Tree of the Mecklenburg Jews (GEDCOM), the grave, and company databases for the Mecklenburg region.
